Infrastructure

Our servers are housed in data centers in the United States (HostCentric) and in the United Kingdom (BlueSquare).

We give you the choice over which data center your account is on. When signing up just select the one you want. If you're not sure, we usually recommend if you are in the United Kingdom, to select the UK center, otherwise select the United States center.

Servers
We are committed to a stable platform, and so use only reliable hardware in our servers. Our servers are being continuously upgraded and have the following basic configuration:

  • Intel Xeon 2.4 GHz Quad Core
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 2x750 GB SATA II Seagate in RAID 1
  • Gigabit network card
  • Debian Linux Operating System

Networks
The network connectivity at our two data centers differs.

HostCentric: the network capacity exceeds 2.5 Gigs via DS3, OC3, OC12 and Gigabit Ethernet connections to a wide variety of peer points and several transit providers.

BlueSquare: a 10Gig Extreme Networks ring connects BlueSquare with two London docklands datacentres - Telehouse East and Telecity HEX89.
